Though the wintertime weather might not be your first choice when moving, there are many benefits to choosing to move in the winter, and Berea Moving knows some tricks that can make it much easier too! Our crew is always prepared for any move, but there are things you can do at home to make the process as smooth as it can be:
One perk of choosing a wintertime move is more availability, summer is our busy season, so it’s easier to book in the winter! (Though we still recommend booking well in advance.)
It’s good to have all driveways and walkways shoveled clear of snow at the moving sites; so we can load the truck efficiently and get it in and out of the driveway.
As an idea to save money, turn off the main heat and create a smaller warm room, that way all of the heat isn’t constantly escaping, but there is still a safe retreat.
Hide away your pets so no unwanted escapees find their way out while movers are going in and out the doors.
Though we offer excellent packing services, if you are packing yourself, you can use plastic bins to pack; they will be waterproof and stackable.
Prepare hot drinks, for you and the crew to enjoy! It’s not necessary, but it’s definitely appreciated!
